Inflation Raising Cost of Eating Random Snacks out of Fridge Instead of Meal Planning

By Tanya Kornilovich

CHICAGO, IL — Inflation has been sky high, and it’s changing everything. Not only is it affecting housing, insurance, gas, and lumber; but it’s also hitting convenience store favorites— like 7/11 hot dogs, Doritos, all Hostess products, and off-brand cheez balls.

This has impacted the eating habits of many, especially those who don’t meal plan. Gone are the days of running to the local convenience store and grabbing day-old pizza, overpriced Gatorade, and sleeves of crackers .

“What, am I supposed to actually bring homemade lunch to work instead of spending $43 on a mass-produced sandwich and three healthy snacks from Whole Foods? I’d rather die!” said Ukrainian Village resident Sarah Jarker.

Chicago residents like her are realizing they no longer can consume six different kinds of hard cheeses in front of the fridge over the course of 72 minutes for dinner.

All of that is too expensive now. Now, people are forced to hunt food blogs for recipes, conduct regular ingredient inventory, compile shopping lists, and bargain shop at the grocery store.

Inflation is single-handedly wiping out college eating styles and forcing zillennials to coupon-clip and shop for sales like an overworked parent.
