CHICAGO, IL - With their hire of former Bengals Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor, General Manager Ryan Pace is hoping that Trubisky can finally break out and become the Andy Dalton everybody was hoping to see from the beginning.

“The moment we traded up to draft Trubisky, we hoped that this would be the kind of guy that carries on the proud Chicago tradition of mediocre quarterbacks,” said Ryan Pace at Halas Hall. “But so far, he has yet to develop into the 250 yard, 2 touchdown 1 interception per game quarterback that we fought so hard to find.”

Pace marveled at how Dalton, no matter what statistic, always managed to hang around between the 10th, and 22nd ranked QB in significant categories, and he credited this consistency to working with Lazor.

“I’ll tell ya, between guys like Shane Matthews, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, and even Jay Cutler, it’s an honor to join an organization with such a rich heritage of lukewarm quarterback talent,” said Lazor. “This is a team with a fanbase who knows the bare minimum that they want out of a QB and I promise to help Trubisky barely meet those expectations.”

He continued, “These fans can finally have the Andy Dalton equivalent they’ve been looking for.”

Immediately following the hire, rumors began to swirl that the Bears would instead opt to sign the actual Andy Dalton.
